Hi! My name is Emma McCarthy and I am so excited to raise funds for Hair To Stay, an incredible non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals undergoing breast cancer.
Hair To Stay raises money to cover the cost of scalp cooling, or cold capping, which is a treatment that significantly reduces the amount of hair loss during a chemotherapy treatment, which is one of the most emotional side effects of cancer treatments. Scalp cooling lets many women hold onto their identity and confidence, during an extremely difficult time in their lives
This cause is deeply personal to me. In the Summer of 2023, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. My family was terrified, we had no idea how much our lives would change. When she started chemotherapy, she decided to try scalp cooling which lead to barely any hair loss. Preserving most of her hair gave her an element of control to hold onto in a time where everything felt out her hands. For my younger siblings and me, seeing my mom look like herself made a frighting time feel less scary.
Now, I want to help other women and families take control of their hair in hard times. I would love if you would be able to help me reach my goal of $10,000 to fund for cold capping treatments to patients who otherwise could not afford it. Just a small donation can go a long way.
